Lauren + Caleb | Engaged

Hey friends!! I’m so excited to blog this engagement session I did last week, it is one of my TOP favorites of all time!! We ended up doing THREE locations! Lauren and Caleb are absolutely the most sweetest, adorable and easy going couples I’ve probably ever met! I met Lauren and Caleb at The Oklahoma Wedding showΒ in January earlier this year. They told me they were getting married at The Hidden Porch Wedding Chapel and GardensΒ on “May the Fourth be with you day” (May 4th), and since I LOVE all things Star Wars and weddings, I knew they were the right couple for me.

The Hidden Porch Wedding Chapel and Gardens is honestly in my top 3 favorites of wedding venues in Tulsa, Oklahoma! They have such a romantic serene atmosphere, one that I wish I could get lost in and stay for a while. They have hundreds of strung lights making for the most ideal location for a wedding! Everyone who knows me knows two things I love, water view’s and strung lights!!! I digress… But back to Lauren and Caleb… I think after showing them a few core poses, and helping them to relax and just be themselves, they really had a great time too!

Here’s a photo from the bridal show where we HAD to take a selfie after they first booked with KWP πŸ™‚

You see, I didn’t know then, but Lauren loves selfies πŸ™‚ I can relate cause I love a good selfie too… see photo below of my sweet hubby and me at his 40th Birthday party at Pho Nhi (The best Vietnamese restaurant in town)Back to the engagement session!! We decided to do her session in parts. We started at the Hidden Porch for some photographs there since that is their wedding venue! (I absolutely adore this cute venue, tucked in a little corner of Catoosa, Oklahoma just about 20 minutes outside of Tulsa, Oklahoma.

They were actually setting up for a wedding that evening, and I caught them in mid-setup. So imagine chairs on the right πŸ™‚ <3

These two are so stinking cute aren’t they? Can you see the laughter in these photos? Caleb had me dying laughing, honestly, to the point of tearing up crying… it was so much fun!

THAT RING, oh my goodness it’s beautiful!

After a bit we left the venue and headed to Sapulpa, OK where I am from and visited Sahoma Lake. Sahoma lake is absolutely an ideal place in the Tulsa area for Engagement photos, family photos, or anything photos really, it’s gorgeous! I have only previously shot there in the fall, but wow even in the winter/early spring it’s beautiful!Β  I was a little nervous that it wouldn’t measure up since the trees weren’t in bloom yet, but it had such a rustic feel to it, I loved it!!Β  Apparently, unbeknownst to me, Lauren and her family are “Lake people”, as her mom put it and felt right at home here, which was great because I was a little nervous they would miss the green trees, but they loved it with me!

We found this little overflow waterfall area that Lauren and I both were like secretly hoping each other would want to shoot at, when I mentioned it she’s like YAAASSSSSSS!!!! So we had to shoot there! It was so much fun, even though the ground was uneven and rocky, and we tried to play with grass and do fun poses out there but really, just capturing the love and friendship they shared was all I wanted to do! I love how comfortable they are together and how natural they take such gorgeous photos! I can’t wait for the wedding day!

Guys, look at this!! Stunning!!!

So after we ventured all around the lake here, we still wanted to have that fieldy/sunset photo feel that we were missing at the lake, and we were unsure if we’d get because to this point the sun kept hiding and we thought we wouldn’t get the glowy pretty light that all photographers dream of! (hint.. we were wrong!) So we were going to end here at Sahoma Lake or Pretty Water Lake, whichever you want to call it, I’m confused, i call it both πŸ™‚ But, Lauren’s mom had an idea! They had family nearby with the perfect fieldy type property so they made arrangements and we then left for our THIRD location!! Guys, this never happens… not because i’m a stickler for time or anything but we just usually do 1-2 locations… I decided lets do three, I was having THAT MUCH FUN! πŸ™‚ So we went to a private residence in Sapulpa/Jenks area and took the remainder of these stunning photos!Β  And I won’t mention the two fences I proudly climbed, (I’m not turning 37 this year, i’m not turning 37 this year)…. to get to this field!!

I swear, the fun and laughter that I had during this casual, lifestyle engagement session is one for the books. Caleb was eating the wheat you guys, it was funny… Take a look…

I’d say they are ready! What a sweet dance! (He was even singing to her…it was epic!)

Then after a dance, and a kiss…take a selfie πŸ˜‰

THIS SUNSET WAS OFF THE CHARTS! Guys, the pretty pink colors with her shirt and skin tone, my gosh, she was stunning! πŸ™‚ This sunset… my goodness its pink dreamy love!!!

All in all, I had such a great time you two, I can not wait to photograph your wedding! I know that you two love each other, love God and make such a beautiful couple! So happy for the both of you! #38days till #reedwedding!!!

XOXO,

Katrina
