Erik + Rachael = Engaged | Acworth Engagement Photographer

I have been thrilled to photograph Rachael and her fiance Erik for months now! I first met her mother last year sometime and she interviewed me for her daughter, since Rachael and Erik live out of state. I met her beautiful mom Rosemary and we had a great time just chatting about all things weddings, and I am thrilled for their wedding coming up, finally, in June! Since they live out of state, scheduling an engagement session has been quite the task! We did attempt a month ago or so, but the weather got the best of us and we had to postpone. I am grateful that they were able to meetup with me, we got to meet for the first time, and get to know each-other a little more. When I first talked to Rachael last year sometime, we spoke about engagement portraits and she told me she really wanted something different, she didn’t want the same ol’ style of portraits that everyone else was doing! So that was really exciting to hear, because I definitely do not photograph traditionally or like everyone else, I’d like to think πŸ˜‰ I had so much fun with them, I hope you enjoy their pictures! We decided to meet in the downtown area of Old Acworth, GA. We met at THE COOLEST restaurant I’ve found in Paulding/Cobb County! Its called The Old Mill Restaurant. My husband and I, along with our families and anyone who comes to georgia to visit, we ALWAYS take them there and LOVE the place. We normally visit on Sunday’s for brunch after church. I remember we went there last year sometime when our best friend Daniel got back from deployment and the owner was incredibly nice and comp’ed his meal and thanked him and my husband for their service. It is really a comfy, adorable, YUMMY restaurant. If you haven’t been there, you HAVE to go, the prices are very reasonable and the food is phenomenal, then the atmosphere, totally perfect!

So we met there and started off w/ some relaxed portraits (relaxed as you can be, inside the railroad tracks area!) They were all game to go on the tracks, walk on them, near them, etc! Look how absolutly adorable they are:

Then they had a great idea, (Fitting perfect w/ wanting unique romantic engagement portraits), go on the other side of the tracks and be right near the train as it passes, with it being behind them!!! Talk about exciting! It was a thrill for sure, for me too! They danced, laughed, kissed and were just adorable! (I can’t wait for your wedding guys, i’m so excited)!!

Then things got dangerous πŸ™‚

After that I decided to make total use of the Acworth Old Mill and use theΒ walls, front, etc, Isn’t it perfect for a wedding and engagement session? I’d recommend it to anyone! I even talked to them there about weddings and apparently they do weddings, so if your reading this and getting married at the Old Mill, I’d love to be your photographer πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Rachael and Erik looks incredible in these next four images, thanks for being so awesome!

After this we headed into the shopping area of the downtown Acworth. It has such cute storefronts, romantic restaurants, and just very picturesque areas for a sweet romantic date, or stroll down town. The owner of the restaurant we used was absolutly as kind as they come. I can’t wait to come here to try their food!! The second two pictures are for Fusco’s Via Roma Italian Restaurant

Side-note: I JUST NOW saw that the old mill in Acworth has changed its name to “Mill and Pub“… that is sad, I loved the other name and its written on the brick walls, so i hope they don’t take that down! Anyway, just thought I’d update that in case anyone wanted to find it but couldn’t by the old mill’s name. Just click the link above and it will take you to their website.

Rachael and Erik, thanks for the opportunity to meet you all, before the wedding, and the ability to take a glimpse into your love for eachother! I had so much fun, and you guys cracked me up the whole time. I love seeing how you interact, cut up and just be real with eachother! The love you two have really shows and i’m excited to photograph your wedding at Park Tavern in Atlanta, in June!
